anglepoise @ material matters

My response to a collaboration with Anglepoise on a live brief to celebrate their 90th Birthday. As part of Material Matters @ The London Design Festival September 2025.

The Beyond Project for me reflects a journey of self-discovery, a story of human impact, identity, belonging and memories. Through the practice of body adornment, narratives are made connecting the wearer to the ghosts of the objects left behind.

My work in the future will look beyond the forms of the objects I use, showing the connection between us and once-forgotten things, allowing for a reinterpretation of a layered past. Using found objects and allowing them to tell their stories is a location response of ‘Object Archaeology’.

(Lampshade Materials – beach found plastic objects, recycled copper, hand-painted sea glass, vintage Anglepoise lamp cord)

“Designing for Anglepoise allowed me to go beyond standard lighting materials, using found objects to repurpose I developed discarded items into a luxury product. Using these materials allows for a unique, environmentally low-impact design that tells a unique and personal story. Working with an iconic brand and pushing the boundaries has resulted in an innovative piece that partly transforms into wearable jewellery. So you can have your desk lamp on and wear it at the same time!”
