ritualistic sea
The shoreline becomes an archive as well as inspiration, seaweed, shells and barnacles imprint themselves into the reflections of the glass. Creating other-worldly forms that echo the rhythms of the tides. When brought into context with the body they take on a ritualistic form, looking inwards from shamanistic traditions and performance to explore the sacred meanings.
Through casting from workshop waste these discarded fragments become a raw material for reinvention, a cycle of renewal.
An intimate dialogue is formed, offering moments of reflection for the viewer on transformation, nature, decay, regeneration, environment and materiality.
